Megan Dice
Megan Dice (Martha) A sophomore English major (History, German, and Theater minor) at Truman State University, Megan has had little time this past year to do any theater, so this is her first show since last May. She works at Scott Air Force Base this summer. She plans to travel to both Germany and England before getting a PhD in English and teaching Shakespeare at the university level, should she survive her undergraduate years. Megan has been fascinated by theater since she played the grandmother in “A Gingerbread Christmas” in second grade. When her mother introduced her to Shakespeare during sixth grade, she became hooked. Since then she has performed, stage managed, or oversaw make-up in several high school productions, and become an LGP regular in upwards of 10 shows in the past four years, including “La Cage aux Folles,” “The Producers,” “The Grapes of Wrath,” “The Sound of Music,” “The Wizard of Oz,” and many productions of “The Christmas Carol.” Beginning the summer before high school, Megan began attending a summer Shakespeare Boot Camp, a three-week intensive course in which students prepare and perform a play, hosted by the St. Louis Shakespeare Company. She would like to thank her family for putting up with her absence between work, classes, and theater and for their eternal support in whatever she plans to do. She would also like to give a shout out to her boyfriend Nathan, who has always loved “Guys and Dolls” and the song “Nathan Detroit,” for singing the songs with her and always providing the love and support for those difficult rehearsal nights. Thank you to everyone for supporting the arts and hope you enjoy the show!
