Ellie Bodnam Schwering
Ellie Bodnam Schwering (Gambler-wanna-be/school child tourist/Havana urchin) is thrilled once again to be sharing the stage with both her mom, Beth, and little brother, Jack and to be working with all her wonderful new friends at Brass Rail Players! Ellie is SAG eligible and has appeared in numerous commercials, print ads, films and theatre productions since the age of 1! You may recognize Ellie from the Zhu Zhu pet commercials currently airing or as the "Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats Kid," from the back of the cereal box or Kellog’s coupons. Favorite past theatre roles include Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, Nellie in Annie Get Your Gun and Scarlet in Lil’ Abner. Many thanks to her Mama for letting her be in her first play and for teaching her to tap dance practically before she could walk! Love and undying thanks to Nance St. James for even considering giving voice lessons to a 5-year-old; ditto to Suze Wall her ever-patient acting coach. Also, thanks to Mama, Pappa and Magra for driving her to endless dance classes, music lessons, play practices and still making sure her homework was done to maintain her A average in school! She will be starting the 5th grade in the fall. Ellie will next be appearing as 1 of 7 children chosen to sing in Union Avenue Opera’s (a professional opera company in St. Louis) production of "Dead Man Walking."
