Maryann Totsch-Hopwood
Maryann Totsch Hopwood (Music Director) was weaned on MGM musicals and has had a lifelong love affair with music and theater. A piano and a pair of ballet shoes turned performing into an immediate passion at age 3. Four years later, she began producing musicals (in her garage) and hasn’t stopped since! She has been a high school teacher, forensics coach, director/music director/choreographer for schools, community theatres, and touring companies. Favorite directing credits include: Anything Goes, The Wizard of Oz, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, South Pacific, Peter Pan, BRP’s Inspecting Carol and Music Director for The Wedding Singer. Maryann is co-owner of Great Escapes, Music Director at St. Mary’s Parish, BRP’s Music Director and Director of their Cabaret Troupe "Offtrack." She adores her family of 10: husband Robert, children Robert II and Alexandra, and six adopted cats. She is thrilled to be a part of BRP and to work with the extraordinary cast and creative team of Mame.

Maryann Totsch Hopwood (Director) was weaned on MGM musicals and has had a lifelong love affair with music and theater . A piano and a pair of ballet shoes from Santa when she was 3 years old turned performing into an immediate passion. The directing bug bit four years later , when she began auditioning neighborhood kids, raiding every attic within little red wagon distance for costumes and props, and producing annual summer musicals in her garage. She became a church organist when she was 8, began composing and arranging music soon after, and secured her first job as a music director at age 16. Maryann was a faculty member at a number of area schools including Althoff, St. Henry’s Prep, and Belleville West, teaching speech and theater , coaching speech and debate teams, and directing plays. She is also a vocalist, plays several musical instruments, and has been a director , music director and/or choreographer for school, community theater , and touring company plays and musicals. Favorite directing credits include: Anything Goes, The Wizard of Oz, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cinderella, South Pacific, Godspell, Inherit the Wind, Peter Pan, Tom Sawyer, Neil Simon’s Come Blow Your Horn, and Arthur Miller’s gripping Incident at Vichy. She was delighted to be the Music Director for the Brass Rail Players’ AWESOME inaugural production of The Wedding Singer last July .
